Science & Electronics May/June 1981 INPUT/OUTPUT DEPT. [Their "Letters to the Editor" column, and BTW [comments] are mine] By Hank Scott "FOR BALLY ARCADE USERS" Q. Is there a group or club that supplies info on the Bally Arcade? - W.N., Irving, TX A. When I first read your letter, I said, "No way!" But I did look into it and discovered "The Cursor Group" headed up by Fred Cornett. I discovered that the Bally Arcade used a beefed-up version of Palo Alto BASIC to include analog-to- digital conversion [for the knob?], 3-voice music synthesier [sp.], 156 x 128 [oh,yeah?] resolution with up to 256 colors and complex accessible graphics. Also the manufacturer did not make the user aware of Peek n' Poke, floating point decimal math, machine language, bootstrap [? - OK, that one I forgot about], etc. The Cursor Group sells its monthly newsletter for $18.95 for one year, $9.75 for six months, and $2.00 for a sample copy. Look into it. [Transcribed by Richard Degler]
